Historic Canal Houses United into a Singular City Icon
Pulitzer Amsterdam spans 25 interconnected 17th- and
18th-century canal houses, forming one of the city’s most
distinctive hotels. Set between the Prinsengracht and
Keizersgracht in the Nine Streets district, it places guests at
the crossroads of history, culture, and shopping.
Each room and suite reflects the unique character of its
original canal house, resulting in varied layouts, charming
architectural details, and views over canals or the hotel’s
inner garden. The interiors blend classic elements with modern
design, preserving a strong sense of place.
Social spaces include tranquil courtyards, a refined bar, and a
canal-side restaurant focused on contemporary Dutch-European
cuisine. With its scale, history, and unbeatable location,
Pulitzer offers an immersive and character-rich Amsterdam
experience.

The luxury suites elevate this concept further, offering refined sanctuaries defined by unique layouts, curated furnishings, and a seamless blend of contemporary ease and timeless elegance.
Verdict
“ Pulitzer Amsterdam is a maze of 25 interconnected canal houses that takes its time to reveal itself, and that sense of discovery is built into every part of staying here. The Pulitzer's Bar, the garden courtyard, and the annual Pulitzer Concert on the canals give the property a cultural life that goes well beyond accommodation. It is the right choice for guests who want the canal belt as their backdrop and a hotel with genuine character rather than polished uniformity.
Staying at the Pulitzer Amsterdam for the third time has only confirmed what we already suspected: it’s one of the most beautiful five-star hotels in the entire city. The design strikes a rare balance. It feels modern and cool, yet full of character. Every corner has its own charm without ever trying too hard.
We had such a lovely time at this hotel. It’s bang in front of the beautiful canals of Amsterdam and on the same street as Anne frank house. It’s super centrally located. But the real fun is when you get on the inside. The room was so lovely and took you back to old time Amsterdam architecture.
I used to live in Amsterdam and I’d always dreamed of being able to stay at the Pulitzer if I ever came back. I got to take my fiancée to Amsterdam for his birthday and was so excited to stay at this beautiful hotel. I mentioned this fact in my notes as I made the reservation.
This hotel was awesome. The rooms were great and were serviced frequently. The location was also perfect right in the 9 streets/Jordaan area with lots of shopping and things to do around. Would recommend this to anybody going to Amsterdam.
Our experience at the Pulitzer was nothing short of wonderful! Every staff member was kind and helpful, the rooms were small but comfortable, clean, and cozy, the amenities like the teapot and cups were wonderful. The location of the hotel was perfect for our sightseeing. The atmosphere is elegant without being stuffy or fussy.
